The city of Guelph has cancelled all public events at River Run Centre until after April 30th. This impacts our April 25th Fond Farewell concert . Our Mozart Requiem concert at Basilica will not be happening on April 5th as the University has cancelled all classes and all events, which prohibits the choir from participating . The City and provincial Minister of Health have advised that all public gatherings above 250 attendees, be cancelled. We want to ensure that our patrons, many of whom are in the most vulnerable demographic for this virus, are protected.
We are looking at the possibility of rescheduling the Basilica concert to happen in late May or early June , but with great sadness, Guelph Symphony is announcing that the Finale concert is cancelled.
Our best thoughts and wishes for YOUR good health!
What options are available to those patrons with tickets to our remaining two concert?
- Donate your tickets for a charitable tax receipt. Your support during this challenging time is more important than ever. The consequences of the COVID-19 crisis on the financial health of charitable arts organizations like the GSO are unknown. We hope we can count on your generosity.
- Exchange your tickets to an upcoming performance in our 2020/21 season. All exchange fees will be waived. If you’re unsure about which future performance to attend, you can decide at a later date.
- Receive a gift certificate for the full value of your tickets, including service charges. Gift certificates may be used to purchase tickets to any Guelph Symphony Orchestra concert through River Run Centre. Please note that response times will be longer than normal, but rest assured that we will get back to you.
