Violinist and violist, Jennifer Armor has a passion for telling stories and performing joyfully. She was the winner of the 2024 Guelph Symphony’s Under 23 Concerto Competition and will be performing the Beethoven Violin Concerto with GSO on February 9th! She shares a deep love of chamber music and in 2019 won the silver medal at the Fischoff National Chamber Competition with her string quartet. Jennifer recently graduated from her undergraduate degree at the Glenn Gould School of Music in Toronto, Canada studying with Paul Kantor and Barry Shiffman. She previously studied with Kurt Sassmanshaus in Cincinnati, Ohio, and has had masterclasses with renowned faculty such as Noah Bendix-Balgley, David Kim, and Barnabas Kelemen. In addition to her love of classical music, Jennifer is also an avid improviser and jazz vocalist/violinist and you can often find her in a stairwell making up chords and singing. Jennifer will be pursuing her masters degree in performance with a minor in jazz next year in Basel, Switzerland at The Academy of Music studying with Alina Pogostkin.
