Relaunching this fall!
The Guelph Symphony Youth Orchestra will rehearse on campus, at the University of Guelph starting mid October. Rehearsals will be on Fridays from 4-6pm. Admission is by audition. In addition to rehearsing challenging orchestral repertoire, musicians will receive regular coaching and mentoring from the professional musicians of the Guelph Symphony Orchestra.
GYSO musicians will present two public concerts, perform side-by-side with the GSO and perform in various outreach concerts as opportunities arise.
If you are a young musician under the age of 28, we encourage you to apply! Follow the simple steps below to complete the application process.

What if I’ve taken a break from my instrument during the last two years and am not in top form? Should I still audition?
ABSOLUTELY! We recognize that this has been a challenging time for young musicians.
Is there a fee to audition? No!
What is tuition to be in the orchestra? Tuition fees are $150 per term (there are two terms).
When will rehearsals start? October 21, 2022. Each term has six rehearsals and a performance and runs in tandem with the university calendar.
